The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is requesting nominations by May 29, 2026, to fill positions that will become vacant on the United Soybean Board in December 2026.
The USDA is seeking qualified soybean producers to serve on the board, which oversees investments of soybean checkoff funds in research, promotion, and education programs that support soybean farmers nationwide.
South Carolina soybean producers interested in serving are encouraged to apply. Nominees must be soybean producers who are willing to represent the interests of soybean farmers and help guide national checkoff investments.
The United Soybean Board is composed of farmer-leaders from across the country who work to strengthen market opportunities and improve profitability for U.S. soybean growers.
Board members help direct funding toward priorities such as:
Research
Market development
Animal agriculture
Sustainability
Consumer outreach
South Carolina’s soybean industry plays an important role in national soybean production, and representation on the board ensures the state’s farmers have a voice in decisions affecting the future of the industry.
Additional details about the United Soybean Board are available through the United Soybean Board and the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service.
