Developing a Marketing Plan allows farm operators to write a marketing and risk management plan for the upcoming year. The seminar packs over 20 hours of hands-on instruction, including problem solving and case studies. Participants will write a 2026 marketing plan based on FLOID (Family Living, Operating expenses, Interest expense, Debt service), and desired equity growth.

Dr. David Kohl
Dr. Kohl, Corn and Soybean Digest’s Trends Editor, is an Ag economist and futurist specializing in Ag finance and business management. He is a Professor Emeritus at Virginia Tech but continues to conduct applied research and teaching ag and banking seminars to producer and agribusiness groups.
Scott Mickey
Mr. Mickey helps farmers understand the tools available to manage risk – crop insurance, government programs, supply and demand trends, market trends and production costs.
MJ Anderson
Mr. Anderson is a Vice President for The Andersons, Inc overseeing trading of US ag commodities – grain trading, trade management and risk management. He serves as Chair of the National Grain & Feed Association Risk Management committee.
David Simmons
Mr. Simmons is Amick Farms Director of Purchasing for SC. He supports producers with crop marketing management.
